This song, and the imagery in the video, get stuck in my head. I had it in my head while I was marching up the hill to Tif's last night. It took some doing to track it down at first, but then I figured out what it was. I'm trying to build a good bouncy-dance-song playlist on YouTube, and one of the sources I'm working my way through is Alphaville. So I have a quicklist full of Alphaville, and I'm trying to figure out which are suited and which are not, and given my attention span this means re-playing the whole list from the start. Lots. It's not Alphaville's usual sound, so I had a hard time identifying it the first ten times it got in my head chirping "Livin' in a big boy's mind!"

Lyrics: At the edge of the moon there's a lonely man
And he blows on his horn as strong as he can
And the girl at the bar wipes the breath
of winter away with a smile of her face
And a little black dog barks along with a loon
Is this my appointment or did I come too soon
Got a strange invitation for teatime 'twas
given by somebody
I can't recall
It's the middle of the riddle
It's not very serious
It's nothing but a big surprise
And the president's horse is a rabbit of course
That is livin' in a big boy's mind
Livin' in a big boy's mind
And I skate on a knife on a wire
That is strung from this song
to a distant shore
And then I say
Intuition is just another phase of chance
While we're walking the old pyramid's floors
(Little pharaoh's)
And the little black dog
Here it comes again
He's a true companion in a foreign land
On a quest for the valley of boojums and birthdays
And phone calls I cannot recall
It's the middle of the riddle
It's not very serious
It's nothing but a big surprise
And the president's horse is a rabbit of course
That is livin' in a big boy's mind
We're livin' in a big boy's mind
Livin' in a big boy's mind
All of man shan't talk to the one at the helm
And the man at the helm shall talk to no one at all (Rule forty-two)
And a horse is a rabbit of course
(Yes indeed)
Yes, a horse is a rabbit of course
Description of video:
Five identical claymation-inspired animated men in numbered trenchcoats stand on an airborne floating platform fishing. The platform creaks back and forth as they move. One of the men reels up a box. The box has a winding key on the side. The men put their ears to the box. The box slides back and forth on the platform, with the men running about to balance it. One man shifts the balance slightly and another man slaps him. A man sits on top of the box, and it careens into another man, knocking him off the edge of the platform. One by one three more of the men fall off the edges. Finally one man remains, sitting on the box. One of the fallen men still dangles from the edge of the platform and tries to pull himself back up. The seated man gets up, walks to the edge, and kicks the fallen man back off. The video ends with the one remaining man standing on the opposite side of the platform from the box, with both man and box at the very edge of the platform, with no way for the man to regain the box without the box toppling over the side.
